Time passed. Absalom, son of David, had a beautiful sister whose name was Tamar. Amnon, son of David, loved her. Amnon grew sick over Tamar, his sister because she was a maiden and it seemed impossible to Amnon that he could do anything to her. Amnon had a friend whose name was Jonadab, son of Shimah, David’s brother, and Jonadab was very wise. He said to him: “Why are you sick like this, o son of the king, every day?
